Playwork
Team [sponsored by Unite the Union] [last year's
recipient was Play Gloucestershire]
This award is about honouring a team of
people who deliver face to face playwork in private, voluntary or local
authority settings. e.g. the staff team of an After School Club, Adventure
Playground, Play Rangers, Holiday Playscheme, Mobile Playworkers etc. How the team
works together irrespective of barriers they might face. The team must be doing
playwork, underpinned by the playwork principles. So this award is not for
headquarter organisations or teams who support others who do the playwork
practice.
We want to honour those who demonstrate
the value of cooperation in the work place by willingly sharing tasks,
responding positively to each other and providing support, showing respect for
other team members in order to succeed in achieving their goal.
What the judges are
looking for:
1. How does the
team makes it a better playwork setting
2. What is it
that this team does, that other teams don’t do, that creates better/more
effective/more appropriate play spaces for children and young people?
3. How does the
team resolves conflict
4. Give some examples
of what the team do that makes them a team rather than a group of individuals.
5. How does the
team promotes communication, trust, co-operation and respect for difference in
the team
